TG Tips – Loire Valley
Things to do in The Loire Valley as well as places to stay, eat and see…
Hmmm…. there can be just a few too many tourists here for my liking; Chenonceau, Chambord, Amboise, etc. That is why it is so important to get off the beaten path. And As always, one doesn’t even need to venture that far; try Chinon. Delightful.
Here are my favourite places I’ve discovered in this much-trodden corner of France…
Chinon
EAT
Musee Anime du Vin & de la Tonnelerie – 12 Rue Voltaire. Oh my goodness, this might be the most fun I’ve had whilst eating in a long long time. I am planning a trip back to Chinon – JUST to eat here.
I don’t want to give much away, but say ‘yes’ to visiting the ‘museum’ before eating. Bring your sense of adventure. Great place for those who struggle to order as you won’t be given a choice. Ask to speak to Bob and if you don’t enjoy it here, then maybe the rest of 2nd Cup of Tea’s recommendations might not be your cup of tea either. Not surprised there is no website. BUT give them a ring as they are very popular and ‘who wants to work all year?’ as the owner says; 02 47 93 25 63 or 06 45 71 30 55
BEST PLACE EVER ! Chez Bob & Dédé la boulange! Je rigole rien que d’y penser!
