Things to do in Amsterdam…<\/p>\n

I avoided this city for years thinking it was all red lights and white smoke. How silly! Then one day I spotted a pop-up map of Amsterdam in a airport, opened it and knew I simply had to go. I think the very next day I booked a trip… I have been back a few times and what a great city it is.<\/p>\n

I have always loved maps (my first degree was Geography). I remember thinking any city that looks like this on paper, must be fantastic in reality. Here are my tips to this great place…<\/p>\n

Dante, Spuistraat 320<\/em> – Great bar, very cosmopolitan – good beers, including a couple of local wheat (white beers). The staff are friendly and very efficient. The place fills up also for dinner, and then many people stay on to drink late into the night.<\/p>\n

Love the art work on the walls. Look out for the cool poster in the corner under the stairs… have spend many a night under his gaze… They have a website <\/a>for more details.<\/p>\n
