What a beautiful island. I am often asked in my job where I like to go on holiday – I guess as a Tour Guide, people always want to know…<\/p>\n

Usually, if pushed for an answer, I respond; the Greek islands.<\/p>\n

Molivos, Island of Lesvos…<\/p><\/div>\n

They are so different and that’s why I love them. A new addition to my ‘favourites’ is Lesvos, close to Turkey in the Eastern Aegean. I visited Sigri and stayed in Molivos, which I loved. Here are my tour guide tips of things to do on Lesvos, Greece…<\/p>\n

Car Hire, etc<\/strong><\/p>\n

Discover Travel Agency, J Aristarchou 1, Mytilene<\/em> – Twenty minutes max after disembarking from the ferry I was driving away in a hire car (not booked before then), insurance, fuel and everything done… and at a great price! George, whose office is as close to the docks as can be, can pretty much set you up with anything on the island I get the impression. I was very impressed with the car hire and can whole heartedly recommend them. Perhaps use their website to book in advance if coming during high season.<\/p>\n

Accommodation<\/strong><\/p>\n

Pension Schoolmistress With The Golden Eyes, Molivos<\/i> – For once I followed trip advisor where this hotel was number one. I stayed a little out of season, so perhaps that’s why the rates were so good. It’s nothing fancy, but just good Greek hospitality in a location above the main village with stunning views from the bedrooms. Very much recommended. Have a look at their website.<\/p>\n

Congas Beach Bar, Molivos<\/i> – The first thing you’ll need is a drink and this place, at any time of day is THE place for it. Super friendly staff, great music and a really good selection of drinks. But the forte of this place is the sunset viewing as well as late night dancing…<\/p>\n
