Welcome to 2021 and the new world of Tourism. Here are my 2021 tours…

Are we ready to travel again? Will we even be allowed?

Well, I have decided to start this year as I do every year; optimistic, but with a dose of 2021 realism when it comes to safety and staying healthy.

I have accepted tours from agencies that are doing their best to ensure travellers can be as safe as possible and tours that appear to be the most likely to run (which rules out cruises for another year). Below, as every year, you will find the tours you can pick from if you are really sure you’re happy for me to be your guide (again).

13 – 17 Rome: Ancient and Baroque. Are there still people who have not been to Rome? If so this agency-run, short, extremely good value for money trip, is a perfect way to start.

31 – 6 (June) Israel: Jerusalem, Galilee and The Dead Sea. I love this trip. Fabulous introduction to ‘The Holy Land’ – not a pilgrimage, but we of course visit all the biblical sites and we cross to Palestine.

29 – 6 (July) Lake Como: St Moritz and The Bernina Express. The trip I have lead more times than any other? I could never tire of the Italian lakes, of which dramatic Como is my favourite. Fabulous train journey on this also.

July

3 – 9 Tour de France; Spectator and Mount Ventoux Week. I continue my relationship with the official tour agency my beloved TdF this year. These trips are an amazing combination of watching cycling and sightseeing.

13 – 19 Tour de France; Final (Podium) Week. Come and watch the culmination of the great race in VIP surroundings as we come ever closer to the iconic finish on the Champs-Élysées, champagne in hand.

31 – 9 (August) NEW: Cycling The French Alps. Brand new trip I myself have created for the leading Italian cycling agency. If you are passionate about cycling, once in your life you have to try the ‘cols’ on this holiday.

23 – 30 Classical Italy. Florence and Rome, but staying in the wonderfully surprising Arezzo – backdrop to many films. Does what it says on the tin this one; all things classical in Italy. Long running successful agency trip.

16 – 23 NEW: Cycling in Israel. First time running – again as a partner with this top Italian cycling academy/tour operator. Follow Froome and head to Israel to challenge yourself riding by The Dead Sea. Wonderful, frankly.

November

TBC NEW Bhutan – Happiness Is a Place. Ok this is the one. If you only travel once this year – with anyone – make it Bhutan and with me. I have teamed up with the best agency to create and lead this wonderful trip. Currently creating a Nepal extension as well. Just working on dates now, to tie in with a fabulous local festival.
